Tell me a question, Daddy.

(It’s “Pajama Day” at daycare.)
Alex: I gonna wear PJs to school, okay? Mommy’s gonna take me.
Mommy: Daddy’s gonna take you to school.
Alex (to Daddy): Let's get that shirt off, okay? You have to get that shirt off, so you can wear some PJs.

Alex: I wanna watch TV for a few minutes and we will go to school.

Alex: I heard a light at the store.
Daddy: You heard a light?
Alex: Yeah it was a fork light. It was too tall and then it was for the man to pick up something off the shelf.

(It’s “Cow Appreciation Day” at Chick-Fil-A.)

Alex: Moo!

Alex: I want some more grapes and more French fries and more chicken nuggets.

Alex: We're having fun, Mommy. We’re having fun!

Alex: What are we gonna do now?
Mommy: Are you done eating?
Alex: No. I wanna eat a little bit more.

(Alex is helping Daddy in the yard.)

Alex: I heard a bug at the playground yesterday.
Daddy: You did?
Alex: Yeah, I did.
Daddy: What did it sound like?
Alex: It sounded like a bug.

Alex (referring to the Roundup): Can you use your toy and make the grass feel better?

(dinner time)

Alex: You’re the power to read, and I’m the power to help.

Alex: I'm a cow.
Daddy: You are.
Alex: I was a cow yesterday.

Alex (pointing at Daddy): That’s Mama!
Alex (pointing at Mommy): And that’s Dada!
Alex (pointing at Grommie): And that’s -- … … Claire!
Alex (pointing at Claire): And that’s Grommie!
Alex (pointing at Alex): And that’s Alex!

Alex (eating a goldfish cracker): I got scared. The goldfish got scared of the mouth.

Alex (to Daddy): Don't look for things. I see a TV right there. ‘Cause you have to break my TV.
Daddy: I'm gonna break it?
Alex :Yeah, it’s gonna be gone. ‘Cause you gonna take my TV. ‘Cause it’s gonna be on the ceiling. It can’t be on the ceiling ‘cause it’s – too high!

(time to go upstairs for bed)
Alex: I don't wanna go.
Daddy: We have to go. Let's go upstairs now.
Alex: No thank you.

Alex: Tell me a question, Daddy.
Daddy: You want me to ask you a question?
Alex: Yeah.
Daddy: Okay. What would you take on a desert island?
Alex (embarrassed, burying his head in Daddy): Stop it.
Alex (recovered): You say it again and I - I say what.
Daddy: What would you take on a desert island?
Alex: What?
Daddy: What would you take on a desert island?
Alex: What?

Alex: Tell me a question, Daddy. Okay? Tell me a question, Daddy. Okay?

Daddy: You want me to tell you a question?
Alex: Yeah.
Daddy: Okay. What is the sound of one hand clapping?
Alex: It’s a tree. Maybe it’s a tree coming from the forest and I was scared.

(Alex hears Claire crying in her bed and starts singing.)
Alex (singing): Rock a my go kuh
Alex (singing): On the tree top
Alex (singing): When the win go key on the Claire doss
Alex (to his own melody): On, see, gair, he, and the, I, give, him, a bath... baaath...

Alex (singing): Rock a my go kah
Alex (singing): On the tree top
Alex (singing): When the wind blow the cradle will rock
Alex (to his own melody): And then he went some, and Alex helped, and then Grandma was... um, at my house and...
Alex (singing very loudly): Oh dough ah dough dough!
Alex (singing): Um... I got you on the tree top
Alex (singing): When the to toe the cradle will rock
Alex (loudly)" Waaaaaaa!

Daddy: Alex, ask me a question.
Alex: What would you take to the Island of Sodor?

Alex: I want some ice.
Daddy: Okay, when Mommy comes in I’ll go get you some ice.
Alex: I will ask her. I will say “please”. And then you will go back downstairs and get some ice. Open the fridge.

Daddy: If a tree falls in the forest, and there’s no one there to hear it, does it make a sound?
Alex: Yeah. Maybe it’s a bee.

Alex: What do you wanna do after nap?
Mommy: Don't we talk about that after you get in bed?
Alex: Yeah.

(in bed)

Alex: I'm a big boy ‘cause I can't eat peanuts. I don't like peanuts. (Singsong) No thank you Daddy!

Alex: Go in the backyard and play in the playroom and play trains. And I'm a big boy ‘cause I can't cry.
