(Alex is having a timeout.)
Alex (to Grommie): You can be here, in the drying room. I want you to come back. I need you. Grommie.
Mommy: Do you wanna play in the playroom?
Alex: Um yeah. I - I wanna play with Rosie.
Mommy: What did Claire do that made you mad?
Alex: Um, she said something mean (mumble).
(Mommy tells Alex that Pop’s coming.)
Alex: Nana wants to come with Pop. Nana wants to come with Pop, Daddy.
(playing trains)
Alex: Come back to coaches... said the coaches.
Train (in shrieking voice): I wannna go back up please... I wanna go back up the hill.
Alex: James wants to get those coaches to somebody to share. With Rosie. ‘Cause he can't pull those coaches. ‘Cause it’s heavy.
Alex: This one’s for you. You – you can be berry berry (mumble).
James: I'm stuck! Help! Help help!
Train: Here, bus. I need to see me. I need to talk to you guys.
Claire: Aaaah!
Alex: Look, Mommy. She's screaming at me.
Alex: James is stuck, Mommy.
Mommy: He is?
Alex: The train’s going by him. Look at Daisy, she's too heavy.
Alex: Uh oh, the train felled away.
Alex: C’mon. C’mon c’mon. C’mine. C’mine. C’mine. C’mine. C’mine. C’mine. C’mine.
Mommy: Let's go up and change.
Alex: And I will play with James, Flying Scotsman, Daisy and the coaches.
Alex: You wanna have a turn, Claire? You wanna have a turn?
(playing with animals)
Alex: I need another camel.
Alex: We need to eat. We need to eat. We’re hungry. We’re hungry. We’re hungry.
Alex: They're all eating their food. ‘Cause the animals are hafta get this one. There's another ant. There’s another ant.
Daddy: All right, I’ll get it.
Alex: There's another one too!
Daddy: Where?
Alex: Right there.
Daddy: I'll get it.
Alex: That's not it. That's not it. Yes, that's it! That’s not it. That’s not it. Yes, that’s it!
Alex: Yeah.
Daddy: No?
Alex: Yeah.
Daddy: Yeah?
Alex: Yeah.
Daddy: No?
Alex: Yeah.
Daddy: Yeah?
Alex: Yeah.
Daddy: No?
Alex: I said yeah!
(dusting time)
Alex: I'm ready to dust!
Alex: I want some more Grommie hair.
Alex: I need some more.
Mommy: More what?
Alex: More hair for Grommie. More hair.
Alex: Oh I see some! Right there!
(dinner time)
Alex: Can I have more milk please -- may I have more milk please?
Alex: Mommy, can I take Elmo a bath?
Mommy (fighting with the computer): Alex, it’s not working.
Alex: I can help.
Alex (to Daddy): You're like a giant.
Alex: Wake up. Wake up. Wake up. Wake up!
Daddy: I'm awake. It was you!
(Grover hits Elmo.)
Elmo: Ouch! You hit me.
Daddy: Elmo is sad.
(Bert arrives.)
Bert: Hi Elmo, what happened?
Elmo: Grover hit me.
Bert: Okay, I’ll tell him.
Bert (to Grover): No Grover, you can't hit Elmo. That's not being nice. You get a timeout. For two minutes.
(song time)
Alex: The chair went in the window and the pillow have to hide.
(Daddy sings to the tune of Doggie in the Window.)
Alex: And the doggie went in the window and saw the chair.
Alex: I'm your Alex, Daddy.
Daddy: What?
Alex: I'm your Alex.
