Can Claire be happy?

Alex: We don't hit dogs, or babies, or mommies, and/or daddies, or boys.
Mommy: That's right.

(nap time)
Daddy: Tell me what you want to say to me.
Alex: I wanna say backyard playroom play trains, backyard, play trains, I don't cry, (mumble) crying rug timeout mat. I wanna say those things.
Daddy: Okay.
Alex: I wanna play in the backyard play in the playroom play trains. ‘Cause I cry on the crying rug and the timeout mat. I want the door open.

Alex: I wanna go to Grandma and Grandpa’s house.

Alex: You don't have cheese for snack. You have cookies, graham bunnies, and - and - what else?

(snack time)

Alex: You scared me yesterday, Daddy.
Daddy: Who scared you?
Alex: You did.
Daddy: Aw, how did I scare you?
Alex: You found your hand and then it has mulch on it and I was scared.
Daddy: Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you.

Alex: I'm done, Daddy. I just ate more food. I ate my cracker, and my cheese, and my plum!
Daddy: Good!
Alex: Now I'm gonna go see what Mommy's doing.

Alex: I was behind the shelf.

Alex: Claire said something to me, Daddy.
Daddy: What did she say?
Alex: She said “ohhh”. She talked to me like that.
Daddy: Oh. Did that make you sad?
Alex: Yeah. It made me sad. I didn't like it.

(dinner time)

Alex: Claire wanted her applesauce cup. And Mommy took it away. And Claire cried really hard.

Alex: Look, my fork has spots on it.

(Claire is crying in the other room.)
Alex: Can Claire be happy?
Daddy: I hope so.
Alex: Can we count to three?
Daddy: Yeah.
Alex: Okay.
Daddy: Let's count.
Alex: ‘Kay.
Alex: One.
Daddy: Two.
Alex: Three, one, two, thirteen, fifteen, seventeen, eighteen.
Daddy: Good!
Alex: She's happy!
Daddy: Did you make her feel better?
Alex: Yeah. She’s – she’s happy.

Dinosaur: What? What? What is going on here? What? What? I wanna get -- I wanna get down. Not like that on my foot. Oh no. Who did it? I don't know.

Mommy (singing to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle): Boo boo boo boo boo boo boo
Alex (continuing the tune): I wanna get a turkey too

Daddy: You wanna flush?
Alex: Yeah, I will flush, and wash hands, and brush teeth, with my new toothbrush.

Alex: I wanna go see Claire first. And then go back in my room.

(The monkey tries to get on the bus.)
Dog: That's not your door, that's somebody else’s door.
Monkey: Where’s my door?
Dog: I don’t know it flew away.

Alex: You put mulch around the tree and your hand got all dirty and then you washed it.

Dinosaur (to Puffin): You can't be loud, I was saying that.
