I would like to be a basketball one day.

(Daddy is getting Alex down from the breakfast table. Claire wants them to come look at what she did with her cars.)
Alex (to Claire): We can look at it after Daddy gets us – me down. Not you down or me down because “us” means two of the people that’s (mumble).

Alex: I would like to be a basketball one day.
Daddy: Yeah?
Alex: Yeah, I would like to play basketball.

Claire: I want Juju uh go.
Daddy: Okay, Juju can go.
Claire: Her like a party!

Claire (to Daddy): You need to zip your jacket!
Daddy: Yeah.
Claire: Zip your jacket.
Daddy: Okay.
(Daddy zips up his jacket.)
Claire: Good job.

Alex: Hey Daddy? That F E D E X spells F’Dex [emphasis on the second syllable] truck.
Daddy: Yeah.
Alex: Well, actually it spells, F’Dex [emphasis on the second syllable].

Alex (for no apparent reason): You need to take directions!
Claire (smiling): Get rid of that stupid blanket.

Alex (to Claire): We’re gonna have a feast at Grandma and Grandpa’s house, and after we sleep, Santa’s gonna bring us some toys and we can play with them, and then we can have a feast at Nana and Pop’s house.
