Alex: Maybe it's summer.
(Pause.)
Alex: What's that called?
Daddy: What?
Alex: That -- out the window.
Daddy: It's fall.
Alex: I'm gonna tell all my friends.
Alex: Daddy’s home! Hi Daddy!
Daddy: Hi Alex!
Alex: Come outside and play with me.
Alex: The music’s done okay, we just did one song.
Daddy: What music?
Alex: Um, fixing my tuck and (mumble).
Alex: And now can you come - do you wanna come get some groceries with me?
(dinner time)
Daddy: What are you having for dinner, Alex?
Alex: Um grapes and water and pasta and grapes. Grapes and carrots and grapes.
Alex: I want some more grapes.
Daddy: What do you want?
Alex: More grapes.
Daddy: Okay, I’ll get you some grapes if you try your pasta.
Alex: Okay.
(Alex tries his pasta.)
Alex: Mmmmmm, delicious!
Daddy: I see a boy.
Alex: I see a girl.
Daddy: I see a boy, and his name is Alex.
Alex: I see a banana.
Daddy: What's the banana’s name?
Alex: Um... He's just a banana.
Alex: She said “cracker” when we was eating snack.
Alex: We didn't play sandbox today, Mommy.
Alex (talking quietly to himself): He's gonna bite my face.
Daddy: What?
Alex: He’s gonna bite my face.
Daddy: Who is?
Alex: Grommie.
Daddy: No he’s not!
Alex: Where's the yellow poothtaste?
Daddy: The poothtaste?
Alex: The peethtaste. What's that called?
Daddy: Toothpaste.
Alex: Where's the other toothpaste?
Alex: I wanna touch the pig with two hands please.
Pig: I pooped on your leg.
Alex: That’s okay, pig.

Alex: What's he reading?
Daddy: He's reading the dinosaur book.
Alex: Is George going down for nap?
