Pee-pee come out!

(The UPS truck pulls up in front of the house. Alex and Claire run to the front window.)
Alex (excited): The brown truck!
Mommy: Brown truck! Exciting!
Alex: It brought us something!
(Alex and Claire jump up and down at the window, squealing excitedly.)


Alex: Let's not play behind the curtains, Claire, because that’s dangerous.


Claire: Pee-pee come out! Uh go poop on the potty.

(Claire is sitting on the potty.)
Claire: No pee come out.
Daddy: Well, you can sit there for a little bit. You want a book?
Claire: Yeah.
Alex: I'll get it.
(Alex runs off.)
Daddy: Oh, Alex's gonna get you a book, isn't that nice?
Claire: Yeah. Nigh. Ay-yah.
(Alex returns with a book for Claire and a book for himself. He sits down and they each read.)

Claire: Uh 'nother book.
Daddy: Okay, I’ll go get you a book.
(Daddy goes to get Claire another book.)
Claire: Pee-pee come out!
Alex: Pee-pee came out!
(Daddy returns to find Claire peeing in the potty! What a big girl!)

Claire: Uh happy now.


Alex: Does Dora pee on the potty? Does Science Kid pee on the potty, everyone on TV too?


(bed time)

Mommy: Tomorrow is Friday.
Alex: And after Friday it will be Saturday.
Mommy: That’s right.
Alex: And next time it will be Sunday.

Alex: Play backyard play playroom play trains. Did you say your words?

Alex: I'm sleepy!
Mommy: Good.
Alex: Now play ear and play hair and play doorfraim, what is it?
Mommy: Play doorframe.
Alex: And play doorframe and play foot and play leg and um, play, play, play head and play nose and play, play, play ponytail, and play chickie and play dog and play door and bang on door and play cars and play, play cars, and play door knob, and now go to sleep and look at pictures and play on the ceiling and play on the floor.

Mommy: Okay, I love you.
Alex: I love you too. And play back and play toe.
Mommy: Okay.
(Mommy leaves Alex’s room. There is a brief silence.)
Alex (shouting to Mommy): And play house!
Alex: And play house!
(There is no response.)
Alex: Okay?
Alex: And play house!
(Still no response.)
Alex: And play with Daddy!
Alex: Okay?
Alex: Say “okay.”
Alex: Please?
Alex: Please?
Daddy (shouting from downstairs): Okay!
Alex: And play with Daddy!
Mommy (shouting from downstairs): Okay!
