(Daddy and Alex are out in the ocean getting hit by big waves. Daddy is holding Alex.)
Alex (to Daddy): Look a different way.
(Daddy turns his head to face the beach, pretending to be unaware that a big wave is approaching.)
Alex (shrieking): Look, Daddy! Look!!
Alex: A big wave!
Alex: Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!
Alex: I’m cold.
(Alex and Claire open their presents – cookies – from Uncle Ed.)
Claire: Present!!
Daddy: Wow, look at that! Who gave that to you?
Alex: Uncle Ed.
Daddy: Did you say thank you?
Alex (quietly): Yeah.
Claire (jumping up and down): I said thank you!!
Daddy: What is it?
Claire: A ball!
Alex: I got a sailboat!
Claire: Uh eating beach balls.
Alex: We got new cookies!
Claire: I eat cookies, Daddy! I eat cookies!
Daddy: Yes you did!
(Claire and Alex are brushing teeth, taking turns using the stool.)
Alex: Can I get on the stool for a moment? I need to spit.
(bed time)
Alex: We’re gonna have a family breakfast.
(Alex and Claire are in bed.)
Alex: Daddy? Daddy? Daddy?
(Mommy goes in the bedroom to see what Alex is yelling about.)
Alex: Claire pooped.
(Claire says something quietly to Alex.)
Alex: Why do you call me Ah-yah?
Claire: You get uh water?
Alex: I don’t want to, I’m not thirsty.
Alex: If people are thirsty, they drink water.
Alex: Well, I don’t want to.
Alex: Sometimes at nap, I stop drinking, I don’t drink water, a lot.
Alex: You smell that smell Claire, that (inaudible)? You smell it?
Claire: No.
Alex: I do.
(Claire says something inaudible.)
Alex: Daddy?
Alex: Daddy?
(Daddy goes into the bedroom.)
Alex: Daddy, I smell something.
Daddy: Oh.
Alex: Is it a skunk?
Daddy: No, it’s not a skunk.
Alex: I don’t like it.
