It sounds like, um, a monkey far away that Grommie hears. That’s what he hears.

Alex: Do you make your name at work?
Daddy: What?
Alex: Do you make your name at work?
Daddy: Yeah.
Alex: Is it “Daddy”?

(Grommie hears something outside.)
Daddy: What does Grommie hear?
Alex: I don’t know.
Alex: It sounds like, um, a monkey far away that Grommie hears. That’s what he hears.

Alex: I'm knocking on the table see if Grandma’s there.

Alex: You're licking me, Grommie.

Alex (to Iguana): Okay, don't scare me, okay? Please.

(Alex is laying on the floor by the train table.)
Daddy: What are you doing, Alex?
Alex: I'm trying to sleep. I'm trying to lay down and play trains. When I'm done – um, when I'm done laying down I can sit up and play with you.

Mommy: Are you poopy?
Alex: Can we blow these bubbles?
Mommy: Yeah. Are you poopy?
Alex: Um yes. It’s okay if I be poopy.

Alex: I want some milk.
Daddy: I want a million dollars.
Alex: You don't need a million dollars.
Daddy: You don't need milk.
(Pause.)
Alex: Can you say "I want some milk"?
Daddy: I want some milk.
Alex (smiling): I want a million dollars.

(Daddy is scaring Alex with the Iguana hand puppet.)
Alex: Turn it off. Take your hand out. Put it away.

Ernie (singing): Bert’s not nice... Bert’s, um, mean to me... I'm gonna wake him up in the morning.

(Mommy gives Alex his snack cup.)
Alex: What do we have? Cookies?
Alex: Cookies?
Alex: Cookies?
Alex: Cookies?
Alex: Cookies?
Alex: Cookies?
Alex: Cookies?
Alex: Cookies?
Mommy: Cookies.
Alex: Okay.

Daddy: Are you going to Nana and Pop’s?
Alex: Pop is at work.
Daddy: What are you gonna do at Nana and Pop’s?
Alex: Um, Pop is at work.
Daddy: What are you gonna do at Nana’s?
Alex: Pop is gonna be there.
Daddy: What are you gonna do there?
Alex: I will play.
