Well I'm thankful for my Grandma.

(Claire comes home from school.)
Claire: Daddy! I ate cheese, with a sandwich.
Daddy: What did you eat?
Claire: I ate cheese, with a sandwich. Turkey.
Alex: There was turkey in it. Under it.

(Daddy isn’t playing the way Alex wants him to.)
Alex (to Daddy): I want you to do what I want you to do.

Alex: Well, someone’s thankful for Soorya.
Daddy: Oh.
Alex: And Angelina’s thankful for Thomas the train.
Daddy: And what are you thankful for?
Alex: Well I’m thankful for my Grandma.
Daddy: That’s sweet.

(Daddy is hugging Mommy.)
Alex: May someone pick me up so I can be in there too?
Alex: Pick me up so I can be in there.

(Mommy and Daddy are talking about a stuffed animal with a suction cup on it.)
Daddy: What are you supposed to stick it to?
Alex (to Daddy): Are you gonna stick it to somebody? I’m gonna stick it to Daddy.

Claire: I like chocolate.
Mommy: Who doesn’t like chocolate?
Alex: Nobody doesn’t like chocolate.

Claire (semi-singing as she reads a Curious George book): Every single letter is getting a cat.

Claire (reading the last page of Curious George and the Puppies): I love you, doggy! I said to you, the end.

(dinner)

(Claire has the monkey cup.)
Claire: Him has a runny nose!
Mommy: He does?
Claire: Him – him needs a tissue!
Mommy: A tissue?
Claire: Yeah.
Mommy: What is he?
Claire: Him a monkey!
Daddy: He… is a monkey. Can you say “He is a monkey”?
Claire: He is a monkey.
