Alex: Who was that? Was that the witch?


Alex: She's a nice girl.
Daddy: Who's a nice girl?
Alex: The witch.


Alex: Is Claire gonna go take a shower?


Alex: I wanna look at Super Why and Sesame Street and the boy with the yellow shirt and dad with the green shirt and Thomas. All of that.


(The following remarks were made during Alex's and Claire's first viewing of It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.)
Alex: What's the dog doing?
Alex: Where're his dog friends?
Alex: What's that?
Alex: What's the dog worried about?
Alex: Is he lost?
Alex: Is it dark?
Alex: He found his house.
Alex: He got out of there.


Daddy: What happened in the show? What did all the people do, and the dog?
Alex: He was lost.
Daddy: Yeah. And what did all the people do?
Alex: Um, they were looking for the Great Pumpkin.


Alex (talking about the train table at the bookstore): Henry is not there. And Percy. And Gordon. And Bertie is there. And Thomas is there. And not Thomas and not Rosie. And not (mumble). And not those other engines too. That's what they don't have.


Mommy: We'll have yogurt and chocolate graham bunnies for snack.
Alex: And cookies. And cookies.
Mommy: Did you know that chocolate graham bunnies are the cookies?
Alex: They're not.


(driving in the car through Innsbrook)
Alex: ‘Nudder office.
Alex: ‘Nudder office.

Alex: Are those offices?
Mommy: Yeah.
Alex: Another office!

Mommy: Can you believe all these offices?
Alex: Another office.
Alex: Those are stores.
Alex: There’s another office over there.


(Alex and Daddy are in the car on the way to the bookstore.)
Alex: Where's your hat?
Daddy: What?
Alex: You forgot your hat.


(Daddy pretends to eat Alex’s ear.)
Daddy: Did I eat your ear? Mmmmm, yummy, I'm gonna eat the other one.
(Alex chuckles.)
Alex: It’s okay if you pretend.
